UPD REMEMBERS KOMLA AFEKE DUMOR

Komla Dumor
As Africa's-Ghana and the world commemorate the third anniversary of your sudden demise, it is still fresh on our memories. We are yet to recover from the shocking public announcement made on 18th January, 2014, "...BBC Focus on Africa host, Komla Dumor is no more..."

United Press for Development-Ghana is ever proud of the unmeasurable legacy you have bequeathed to Ghana, Africa and the world in professional media practice.

You inspired the youth, built not just nations but generations with your sweet gentle looks, impeccable voice and matured communication skill in news coverage and broadcasting. Komla, you are truly Africa's gift to the world (as stated by former President of the Republic of Ghana John Dramani Mahama). The heroic and historic torch you have lit in media and global development will never quench, "boss player".

Your ascension to global media platform and earning a place in 100 Most Influential African Youth is more than a weapon to the present Ghanaian youth to shine amidst the mighty challenges and difficulties facing us.

May your gentle soul rest in perfect peace.

As a matter of fact, Ghana is blessed with several hidden talents in media, sports etc. in the remote areas of the country. Though amateurs but with a little capacity building among others, the country will benefit from a pool of millions of Komla Afeke Dumor's talent.

As we appeal to media persons to remain resolute in the discharge of their professional duties with standard ethics we call on civil societies, NGO's (local and international) and government to support media houses in their quest to tell the African story and undercover rot in society.

We finally admonish media practitioners to make time for their healthcare, exercise, rest and respect their dieticians menu for good health (avoid late eating among others)

Long live the legacy of Ghana's Komla Dumor

Long live Africa

Long live the world
